Community Contributions
TSYS is consistently recognized as one of the best companies to work for in America. Our team members have the same enthusiasm for making our communities the best places to live in America. Following are brief descriptions of some of the community contributions of TSYS team members:
United Way
 TSYS is a key player in the United Way's Chattahoochee Valley Chapter. During the 2001 campaign, which ended in late October, TSYS met and exceeded its campaign goals. Sixty-eight percent of team members contributed, as Synovus crossed the $1 million threshold for the second year in a row.
TSYS team members learn about the benefits of giving to United Way by hearing stories from those who have been helped by United Way agencies TSYS also participates in United Way's loaned executive program, which means that each year several executive leaders assist our local United Way chapter with raising funds during the annual campaign.
TSYS Helping Hands
 TSYS Helping Hands signifies the commitment of our team members around the globe to give back to their communities. The icon represents our willingness to extend a helping hand and an open heart when help is needed. It provides a common banner for our efforts and serves as a tool to encourage each of us to reach for the best in ourselves.
Service to others is more than a philosophy; it is our responsibility. Through corporate community initiatives and other volunteer activities, team members everywhere will have opportunities to contribute to the well-being and growth of their communities.
Habitat for Humanity International
 Many TSYS members are involved in the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity, which is based nearby in Americus, Ga. Thus far, the company has built two houses, and team members have worked on several other homes. Team members in the Jacksonville and Atlanta offices have volunteered to work on other Habitat projects in their respective communities.
TSYS Future Scholars Foundation
Another way we support the community is through the TSYS Future Scholars Foundation, Inc. Established in 2008, the program represents our commitment to support higher education through a scholarship program for the children of TSYS family team members.
The scholarship is designed to reward the well-rounded student who strives for high academic achievement, devotes time to worthwhile extra curricular activities, and is involved in meaningful community service. Many children of TSYS' employees have been able to afford advanced education because of the generosity and initiative of our team members.
Funds for the scholarship program are raised in a variety of ways. TSYS has held bake sales, golf tournaments, fishing tournaments, T-shirt sales, cookbook sales and other events to support the scholarship fund. In 2000, each team and department sewed a square for a patchwork quilt that was put together to represent the company. Each patch became artwork for holiday cards that were sold to benefit the scholarship fund.
Partners in Education
TSYS also supports the Partners in Education program in Columbus. TSYS and Shaw High School are in their ninth year as partners. Each year our team members are involved in different programs according to the school's needs. During the 2001-2002 school year, TSYS will sponsor Shaw's career day, host Principal's List luncheons, provide funds for the athletic department and help purchase the academic calendars that are given to each student. We will also have a drawing for those with perfect attendance, and the winners will each receive a savings bond. In the spring, TSYS will sponsor an art show at the school, and some of the participants will have their art displayed at the TSYS main campus.
