Synovus

IBM
TSYS partners with IBM for both hardware and software solutions. IBM provides the mainframes that are used in our data centers.
- IBM ranks TSYS' data centers among the top 50 in the world, the top 25 in the United States, the top 10 in the Southeast and the second-largest in Georgia (ranked by millions of instructions per second).
- TSYS IBM mainframes store 60 terabytes of data (or 60 trillion bytes) -- six times the size of the Library of Congress.
- Total processing capacity: 14.5 billion instructions per second
- Total transaction volume in 2000: 5.6 billion
Also, TSYS uses IBM's MQ Series messaging in our data streaming processes. Our partnership with IBM is constantly growing and changing.

Europay International
Europay International, based in Waterloo, Belgium, is the European banks' leading provider of personal payment services. At present, 240 million cards (Eurocard-MasterCard, Maestro, Cirrus and eurocheque) provide global credit and debit services to European citizens, and offer cash access to Europe's largest network of over 242,000 ATMs in 41 countries. Through its alliance with MasterCard International, Europay now offers banks products that are accepted at almost 530,000 ATMs and 17 million locations worldwide.

CheckFree
CheckFree helps TSYS to provide an online bill presentment and payment service. Founded in Atlanta in 1981, CheckFree designs, develops and markets services that enable its customers to make electronic payments and collections, automate recurring paper-based financial transactions and conduct secure transactions over the Internet.
In March 1997, CheckFree introduced the nation's first end-to-end system for electronic presentment of richly formatted bills over the Internet, as well as next-generation electronic payment and remittance capabilities. CheckFree's E-Bill uses existing payment systems and allows consumers to access and pay their bills through the branded home-banking services of financial institutions.

GlobalPlatform
TSYS is a member of GlobalPlatform, the cross-industry membership organization created to advance standards for smart card growth. It combines the interests of smart card issuers, vendors, industry groups, public entities and technology suppliers and works to define requirements and technology standards for multi-application smart cards.
GlobalPlatform also develops conventions to allow for application loading, key management and personalization. The infrastructure provided by GlobalPlatform will enable issuers from a variety of industries to deploy applications through various channels. Visa International has transferred its Open Platform specifications to GlobalPlatform.
