Some Things Are Just Better Together: TSYS Merchant Solutions
TSYS > TSYS Merchant Solutions

A Message from Troy Woods

In January 2011, TSYS completed the remaining acquisition of First National Bank of Omaha's 49-percent stake in what was formerly a joint venture between our companies. The result was the formation of a new company called TSYS Merchant Solutions. This partnership gives TSYS a top-10 presence in the merchant acquiring market in the United States, according to The Nilson Report.

Why did we make this move?
This acquisition means that for the first time, we are literally connecting buyers and sellers from one end of the spectrum to the other across the payments value chain. We have been delighted by First National Merchant Solutions' performance and energy, as well as the new opportunities they bring to our business.

What does this mean for the future?
This is just the first step in our diversification across the payments value chain. TSYS Merchant Solutions has a strong leadership team in place in Omaha, and we are pleased to serve as a direct merchant acquirer in the U.S., as well as a prepaid card issuer and program manager for payroll cards.

Why are TSYS and FNMS better together?
TSYS and FNMS both share a passion and commitment to providing partnerships, service and technology to the payments industry. Not only has FNMS proven to be a good investment, they are also a great cultural fit.
