TSYS Introduces a Complete Business Process Management System for Issuers
TSYS ProphIT Allows Issuers to Manage Their Processes Better, Cheaper and Faster
Columbus, Ga., June 3, 2002 - TSYS® introduces TSYS ProphITSM, a Web-based process management system that provides direct access to account information and other system interfaces to help streamline an organization's business processes. Charming Shoppes, the largest strip center women's specialty apparel retailer in America, is the first to deploy TSYS ProphIT for its Fashion Bug credit card portfolio.
Charming Shoppes (NASDAQ: CHRS) (www.charmingshoppes.com) implemented TSYS ProphIT in February in a deployment that required just under 90 days to customize to its customer care services related to its Fashion Bug credit card operations.
"Leading retail credit card issuers like Charming Shoppes understand that inefficient processes can create havoc on expenses. Helping our clients find ways to cut costs and improve their customers' experience is what drove us to create TSYS ProphIT,'' said Richard W. Ussery, Chairman of the Board and CEO of TSYS.
TSYS ProphIT is a state-of-the-art process management system that can accommodate virtually any business process. It is a Web-based product that provides direct access to account information and other system interfaces. The product's built-in workflows are automated, allowing clients to manage their business processes better, cheaper and faster. TSYS ProphIT was developed for TSYS' existing clients, and future development is expected to provide other financial institutions and retailers with completely customized workflows that work on any processing system.
"Our experience in handling critical execution for more than 229 million global cardholder accounts gave us plenty of insight into how innovative technology could truly cut costs and improve the customer experience," said Richard Marks, TSYS Group Executive. "The essence of TSYS ProphIT is that it brings transparency to your processes, allowing you to see the impact on your bottomline in the first year."
Using Microsoft .NET and its years of experience customizing workflows, the Business Process Management division of TSYS created a Web-based portal, or front-end presentation, that allows customer service representatives, managers and collectors to perform their daily functions with ease and accuracy. The portal allows users to access account information as well as other system interfaces from mainframe systems as needed, providing significantly higher call center productivity. Unlike many popular customer relationship management solutions, TSYS ProphIT utilizes an open architecture with a three-tiered design - data access, process management and portal layers - that are easily customizable and highly scalable.
Behind the scenes, workflows control the access and use of data, which execute decisions automatically for the user. TSYS ProphIT also allows clients to develop new workflows almost twice as fast without any custom programming.
For TSYS, the introduction of TSYS ProphIT is the latest in a long, quiet history of innovation. The company's development of multiple payment processing platforms is unparalleled in the global payments industry. "Investing in solving our clients' problems is a cornerstone of our strategy,'' said Ussery.
