TSYS Enters Southern Europe

Payments Veteran to Establish Sales Office in Italy

London, U.K., and Columbus, Ga., July 15, 2002 - TSYS today announced the addition of Fabio Micheli, 10-year financial services and payments executive, as regional sales manager for Italy, Turkey, Greece and France. Micheli will establish a sales and marketing office in Italy. TSYS expects to open additional offices throughout Europe to service clients.

"Fabio's in-region experience will complement TSYS Europe as we extend our processing services to meet the needs of the industry in Southern Europe. His experience in payments from the issuing and acquiring arenas will allow TSYS to build relationships with the many strong prospects in the TSYS pipeline," said Roger Van Scoy, managing director of TSYS Europe.

The executive joins a strong and talented management team with more than 120 years of combined industry experience and expertise. Before joining TSYS Europe, Micheli was Italian country manager for First Data. Micheli earned his bachelor's degree from Heald Engineering and Business College in San Francisco. He has worked in sales for more than 20 years, including numerous management positions with Citibank N.A. in its cards Italy division.

Europe is an important growth region with 441 million credit and debit cards, according to industry sources. The market is ideal for TSYS because outsourced payment services are becoming increasingly popular as cross-border competition and consolidation intensifies among international banks.
