Tempe, Ariz., March 26, 2009 — TSYS Acquiring Solutions today announced partnership agreements with mPay Gateway(TM) and Nova Libra to provide point-of-sale payment solutions that meet the needs of healthcare providers and their patients, as well as pharmacies and drug stores.

Medical providers experience a substantial financial burden from outstanding patient receivables and related collection expenses. With mPay Gateway's point-of-sale solution, providers are able to calculate the patient portion of the service fees before a patient leaves the doctors' office, beginning the collection process immediately. Effective June 30, 2009, an Internal Revenue Services (IRS) mandate prohibits Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) debit cards from being accepted at most drug store and pharmacy retail locations without an Inventory Information Approval System (IIAS). An IIAS identifies eligible healthcare FSA/HRA purchases by comparing inventory control information such as UPC or SKU numbers against an IRS-established acceptable list.
