Authenticate Your Terminal

Terminal authentication will help prevent unauthorized access to your merchant Point-of-Sale (POS) device by requiring an authentication code along with your ZIP code. This is entered at the POS terminal before the first transaction immediately following a full download. Any time a POS device receives a full download, the terminal must be authenticated. Only one POS device can be authenticated to one Terminal ID (TID) at a time. Follow the information listed below to authenticate your terminal.

Ingenico Terminals

Step 1: Press [.,#*] key (Punctuation Admin Key above Green Enter key).
Step 2: Press [4] key for Maintenance Menu. 
Step 3: Press [4] key for Authenticate. 
Step 4: Enter V by pressing the number 8 followed by the F key located above the red button 3 times until the 8 changes to a V. Enter 032820140 and press [Enter]. 
Step 5: Enter merchant location ZIP code and press [Enter]. 
Step 6: Terminal will authenticate and will print a receipt saying “activated”. If terminal prints a receipt saying “not authenticated”, please call Merchant Support at 800.654.9256.

 

VeriFone Terminals

Step 1: From the Sale/Phone Order/Check Screen press [Enter] 
Step 2: Key in the Admin Password [1 Alpha Alpha 66831] and press [Enter]. The Alpha key is the small gray button located above the 2; it changes the character of the 1 to a Z and will not change anything on the screen. 
Step 3: Press [F1] for Authenticate. 
Step 4: Enter V032820140 (press 8 Alpha Alpha Alpha to obtain the V) and press [Enter]. 
Step 5: Enter merchant location ZIP code and press [Enter]. 
Step 6: Terminal will authenticate and will print a receipt saying “activated”. If terminal prints a receipt saying “not authenticated”, please call Merchant Support at 800.654.9256.
